Practically everything that surrounds a person is actively used by him to meet his needs. The vast majority of key natural resources on the planet will soon run out. Every year the volumes of use of natural resources are increasing at a tremendous rate. Given the constant growth of the population on the planet, in the near future humanity will be forced to solve the problem of finding and replacing the main natural resources with alternative ones. For some types of resources, alternative solutions have not yet been found. Therefore, the only thing that humanity can do to postpone the solution of problems with natural resources is to implement the concepts of rational use of natural resources in all areas of its activity as effectively as possible.
The subject of the academic discipline "Biological Resources, Rational Use and Protection" is a comprehensive study of the natural resource potential of Ukraine, familiarization with management measures for the rational use of natural resources of various types, qualitative and quantitative assessment of abiotic and biotic resources of our state, development of measures for the conservation and reproduction of resources, creation of optimal schemes for the development of society, detailed study of alternative technologies for the use of natural resources, familiarization with world experience in the rational use and reproduction of natural resources.
The purpose of the academic discipline "Biological Resources, Rational Use and Protection"
The purpose of studying this discipline is to form in graduate students a complex of knowledge in the field of rational use and conservation of natural resources, study the main types of natural resources and areas of their use, familiarization with alternative solutions for replacing key exhaustible resources of the planet, mastering the principles of creating systems for the rational use of natural resources and their restoration.
In accordance with the goal, the training of doctors of philosophy in this specialty requires strengthening the competencies formed in graduate students:
- the ability to conduct critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas;
- the ability to develop and implement projects, including their own research;
- the ability to use basic general knowledge from various sciences in professional activities.
According to the requirements of the program of the academic discipline "Rational use of natural resources", graduate students after mastering it must demonstrate the following program learning outcomes:
- know the priority state directions of development of science, engineering and technologies in the professional and related areas;
- demonstrate awareness of modern strategies for environmental protection, environmental legislation, regulatory documents on environmental protection;
- develop a plan of measures for reliable control of man-made factors on the environment, create systems for protecting the environment from harmful effects.
